Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Misconfigs LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use FindMeTool at https://findmetool.com and its online utilities (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here and our Terms of Service.
1. Overview
Misconfigs LLC operates FindMeTool, a collection of free online utilities. We do not require an account to use the Service. We collect certain technical and usage information to operate, secure, and improve the site, as described below.
Data controller
For purposes of applicable privacy laws, Misconfigs LLC is the data controller for personal information processed through FindMeTool. Contact: [email protected].
We do not currently appoint a separate EU or UK representative. If that changes or if applicable law requires one, we will update this Policy.
California notice at collection. If you are a California resident, this Policy describes the categories of personal information we may collect, the purposes for which we use it, and how to exercise your rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA.
2. Information we collect
Tool inputs
FindMeTool tools process your input locally in your browser using JavaScript. The text, numbers, or files you enter are not intentionally transmitted to our servers as part of normal tool use.
Site traffic is separate. Loading pages, analytics, and advertising may involve network requests to our infrastructure and third parties, as described below. Tool behavior may change over time; do not enter highly sensitive information unless you accept the risks described in this policy.
We do not operate a general-purpose logging system for calculator or formatter inputs. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not store a history of your tool sessions on our servers.
Do not enter passwords, API keys, private tokens, government ID numbers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information into any online tool unless you accept the risk of exposure through your device, browser extensions, or network.
Browser storage
We use browser local storage and similar technologies for preferences and convenience, such as:
- Recently viewed tools
- Theme preference (light or dark mode)
- Other UI settings that improve your experience
This information remains on your device until you clear it through your browser settings.
Technical & server data
FindMeTool is hosted on Cloudflare Pages by Misconfigs LLC. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may record standard request metadata when you load a page, for example, IP address, browser type, referring URL, request path, and request time, for security, operations, and abuse prevention.
Analytics data
We use analytics services to understand traffic patterns, popular tools, and general site usage. Depending on configuration, this may include page URLs, referrer, browser type, device type, session duration, and approximate location derived from IP address.
We do not require accounts and do not collect payment information on the Service today.
3. How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service
- Understand which tools and pages are used
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents
- Debug errors and maintain reliability
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use tool inputs to train our own machine learning models today. If we introduce features that send data to third-party AI or similar providers, we will update this Policy before or when those features launch.
Aggregated analytics. We may use anonymized and aggregated usage information to improve the Service and understand trends, provided such information does not identify you.
4. Sensitive content in tool inputs
Tool inputs may inadvertently contain secrets, credentials, personal data, or proprietary code. You are responsible for redacting sensitive values before use where possible. Treat any output you copy or download as potentially sensitive if it reproduces input material.
If copied or exported output conflicts with our Terms of Service, the Terms control.
5. Third-party services
We use third-party services to operate the Service. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and our agreements with them. We may add or change providers over time.
- Cloudflare: hosting, CDN, security, and Web Analytics (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
- Google Analytics: site usage analytics (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google AdSense: display advertising and ad measurement (Google Privacy Policy, Google Advertising Policies)
- Sovrn: display advertising served through Prebid/header bidding (Sovrn Privacy Policy)
Fonts and other static resources may be loaded from standard web delivery networks as part of normal site operation.
Third-party advertising partners (including Google, Sovrn, and their ad partners) may also process information when ads are displayed or clicked, as described in Section 6 below.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, availability, or actions of third-party providers. Your relationship with those providers is governed by their policies.
7. Local processing & service workers
Some tool calculations and transformations may run in your browser using JavaScript. That does not mean the input or output is never transmitted, logged, or recorded elsewhere.
After your first visit, static assets may be cached locally by a service worker so pages load faster and some resources work offline. Cached assets are stored on your device.
8. Data retention
- Tool inputs: we do not commit to a fixed retention period; inputs may be processed transiently or retained in logs for operational, security, or improvement purposes
- Browser storage: retained on your device until you clear it
- Server and analytics logs: retained for a limited period consistent with operational, security, and legal needs
To request deletion of personal information we hold, contact [email protected]. We will use reasonable efforts to respond as required by applicable law.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for securing your device, browser, and network. Do not submit credentials, private keys, regulated data, or other sensitive information through the Service unless you accept the risk of interception, logging, caching, or third-party access.
In the event of a security incident affecting personal information, we may notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
10. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal information under the following legal bases, depending on the activity:
- Consent: optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Cloudflare Web Analytics) and optional advertising cookies (Google AdSense, Sovrn) when you opt in through our cookie banner or cookie preferences control.
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing, and improving the Service; measuring aggregate traffic where permitted; detecting abuse; and displaying non-personalized or contextual advertising where consent is not required or not yet given, balanced against your rights.
- Contract / pre-contractual steps: providing the Service you request when you visit a page or use a tool (for example, delivering static assets through our host).
- Legal obligation: retaining or disclosing information when required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory request.
You may withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time via cookie preferences without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected].
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or comparable laws, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, the right to data portability where applicable, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA; we do not sell personal information as defined by that law.
12. International transfers
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from other regions, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where we or our subprocessors operate.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by subprocessors including Cloudflare and Google.
13. Children
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Your choices
You can use the Service without creating an account. You may clear local storage, disable JavaScript, block analytics scripts, or disable service workers through your browser , though some features may not work without them.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including if we add new analytics providers, advertising partners, or change how reference data is loaded. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
This Policy is provided for transparency and does not create contractual warranties beyond those stated in our Terms of Service.
